Hey!

So let’s try surviving the zombie apocalypse.

Remember that this is a game and be sure to comment how many times you died or what choices you made!

Imagine waking up to a beautiful sunshine and birds chirping in harmony. You feel like this would be the perfect day to start doing that daily jogging that you keep putting off.

You open the door, breathe in the fresh air, and scream as you see a half dead man chasing a little kid, both are coming your direction.

What would you do? Remember that this is about surviving, so every step you make matters. Here are your options:

  1. Keep your door open and attempt to let the kid in.
  2. Grab your nearest object and go mashing on that zombie.
  3. Close the door and pretend like you saw nothing.

So what did you choose? Well, if you choose 1, then the zombie outran the kid and got him. We’re using the fast kind of zombies, not the slow ones.

If you choose 2, then you failed to notice a horde of zombies near your house and got yourself killed. But hey, at least the kid escaped while you went ham and died.

If you choose 3, then you are a terrible person but you saved yourself. The kid died though.

After you shut the door on the zombies, what do you do next? Preparing for the future is necessary in a zombie apocalypse. If you go in blindly, you might find yourself trapped with no escape.

So would you:

  1. Phone a friend. Ask them what’s going on, panic, or call for backup. Whatever you do, at least someone’s got your back. If you don’t have any friends, well, don’t pick this one.
  2. Start researching. The Internet should still be up for a while so take this time to find out as much as you can about this current situation.
  3. Barricade your house. Put barriers on the windows and doors to make sure nothing breaks in. Make one of those traps they show on YouTube with all of those complicated contraptions.

All three of these options seem good, but picking what to do first is crucial. If you picked either 1 or 2, then the zombies broke into your house and well, you’re dead.

Number 3 is the best option out of these three as you first need to make sure your environment is safe to work in. After you barricade the house, depending on what you search up, researching can help you plan out where to go or what to do next. Having help is important but it should come after you have somewhere safe and a plan.

So you successfully barricaded your house the best you can, blocking the windows with your shelf and random wooden parts that you found in the garage. You also found that the zombies can’t swim, so the safest place would be places would tons of water. After calling your friend, you both decide to go to Florida.

How you get there is a problem though. You have to pick your friend up, as he’s too scared to come out of his house. Thankfully though, his house is pretty close, making it a 10 minute walk. Walking with zombies roaming around would be quiet dangerous and a car would attract a lot of attention.

How would you get there?

  1. Walk. You believe in your stealth abilities that you obtained from playing Minecraft. If no one saw you sneaking up on them in Minecraft, surely the zombies wouldn’t notice you.
  2. Drive. Even if it attracts attention, at least it’s faster. And maybe the zombies wouldn’t be able to break through the windows of the car. If they do, at least you’ll go out in style and run some zombies over.
  3. He’s on his own. Forget your friend and venture into Florida on your own. Although that does destroy your friendship, you wouldn’t have to risk walking a few steps to get him.

This situation is very dangerous, and walking is the best option. But how you do it decided whether or not you die while walking.

You can’t just stroll up to his house, tons of zombies would chase you.

Sneaking to there is required and to do that, you would have to do a neighborhood dash. Basically go one house at a time. Hop into your neighbors backyard and do it slowly. Usually their yards are fenced so no zombies would be back there. Go along the walls and make sure no zombies see you. You can also hope that your neighbors are nice enough to let you in, unlike you with that poor kid. If they do, it would be easier as you’ll be in safety with a bunch of breaks.

Assuming that you did this correctly, you made it to your friends house in 30 minutes. Sure it took a while but at least you made it. You and your friend plan to walk to a highway and hope to either hijack a car or find someone to ride with.

Now what supplies would you bring with you? Making sure you have enough supplies is a heavy thing. You don’t want to run out of food midway through your trip, now do you. Plus if you do find a ride, then the driver would like some gifts.

Let’s look at our options:

  1. Bring the estimated amount of food and water and two sleeping bags. The lightest but also the minimal option, with these items you might not starve and you won’t have to sleep on concrete.
  2. Bring a surplus of food and water, sleeping bags, and a flashlight. The hiker’s recommended kit. A bit heavier than the first one but more useful.
  3. Bring an entire bag full of food and water, with tons of supplies including gears and everything in between. A lot heavier than the previous ones with enough mechanical tools to help you fix any abandoned vehicle.
  4. Bring fully equipped and ready hiking bags with med-kits and tons of food. Not only that, it also has mechanical parts and electrical conveniences. By far the heaviest option, this pack guarantees that you won’t find yourself in a situation where you are at a lost with supplies. Though you might find yourself in some other situation…

If you choose 1, then you strayed off the path due to zombie interference and died of starvation. You were so close too! Better bring more food next time… oh wait…

If you choose either 3 or 4, then I guess you came prepared. With the amount of extra supplies you brought, nothing can stand in your way. Except maybe that mob of fast zombies chasing you. You could abandon all the gear slowing you down but without that bag, you might find yourself facing the calamity known as starvation. Either way, you’re toast.

If you choose 2, ding ding ding, you choose the right answer! After almost falling to starvation, you and your friend find yourself in the van of a nice lady who was on her way to Florida because she heard of the coastal protection it was setting up. You three journey on, and after several days, you find yourself in a safe cabin by the sea, with guards protecting you from the zombies.

The End…. or is it?

So, if you made it this far, how many times did you die?

If you like what I did, please comment it! This has been very fun to make and it would really help me get motivated to do more of these if I hear that you all enjoyed playing it as much as I enjoyed making it. And while you’re at it, suggest what we can try surviving next time. It would be fun to hear your ideas too!

This game was inspired by the YouTuber DanPlan who makes really funny videos about these, so check them out if you’re bored!

Until next time,

Bye!
